Installation of Ultimate Insulated Roller Garage Doors

We recently helped a customer replace four old garage doors with new Ultimate insulated roller doors, and it was one of those jobs where you really notice the difference the right doors can make.

First off, we removed the existing doors but left the frames in place. That gave us a solid starting point and meant the new doors could be fitted neatly without any issues. Every installation has its little challenges, but planning and taking our time always pays off.

The new doors are finished in a sleek black (RAL 9005) and give the garages a much cleaner, modern look. They’re all electrically operated, so opening and closing is effortless. Each one also has a manual override, which is always a reassurance for clients in case of a power cut.

Safety was a key focus for this job. We made sure each door had everything it needed: photocells to stop them closing on anything in the way, safety edges, automatic lock-downs, and brush-lined guides to prevent metal-on-metal contact. Weather strips along the bottom keep out draughts and rain, and the fully enclosed hoods give a tidy, finished appearance. We also added courtesy lights and alarms so the doors are simple and safe to use every day.

The doors came in a range of sizes: two at 3360mm wide, one at 2950mm with an external release, and one at 2650mm. Each opening has its own quirks, so making sure everything lined up perfectly was important. Seeing the doors roll smoothly into place and knowing they were fitted correctly is always a satisfying moment for us.

By the end of the day, the garages weren’t just more practical - they looked better, worked better, and were much easier for the customer to use. It’s always rewarding to hand over a project like this and see the customer happy with the result.

If you’re thinking about upgrading your garage doors, having the right product and a team who knows what they’re doing makes all the difference. We’re always happy to offer advice and make sure your doors are fitted properly.
