Ever since Cooks Doors was established in 1965, we’ve always focused on investing in the future of the company. Whether that be investment in the products that we supply and install, the services we provide, or the way we operate as a company, it’s all part of our ongoing commitment to providing the best possible service to our customers.
As part of that ambition, we have recently completed a major project to install a large-scale solar panel system at our Norwich base. That work has seen 102 high-performance solar panels fitted across the roof of our showroom and factory - something that will help us to significantly reduce our reliance on traditional energy sources and improve the long-term sustainability of the business.
Each of the newly installed panels is rated at 450 watts. This gives the system a total generating capacity of 46kWp and will allow us to generate a substantial proportion of our own electricity directly on site - helping power our business more efficiently on a day-to-day basis.
The environmental benefits of this project are also substantial. It is estimated that the system will reduce our carbon emissions by approximately 6 tonnes of CO2 every year - dramatically contributing towards a lower environmental impact over the long term.
