Back in December, just before everyone disappeared for Christmas, we managed to get the whole team together at the Cooks showroom.
On Friday 19th December, staff from across the business were invited along for a small, informal get-together to make our last working Friday before the break. There was food, a few drinks, and plenty of catching up - a nice change of pace after a busy end to the year.
We also took the opportunity to celebrate a few important moments. Long-service awards were handed out to members of the team who have been with Cooks for many years, and we said goodbye (properly) to Jonny, who officially retired.
Jonny’s retirement felt like a big milestone. He’s been part of the furniture here for a long time, and his experience and commitment have played a real part in the business becoming what it is today.
Cooks has always been a company built around people - the engineers, the office team, the surveyors - and afternoons like this are a good reminder of that. It wasn’t a big event or anything fancy, just a chance to say thank you, recognise loyalty, and end the year on a positive note.
A lovely way to close out 2025.
