New Rolling Shutter Door for Caister Lifeboat Station

Posted on 18/07/2014 The Caister lifeboat is one of the most well-known in East Anglia. Famous for their ‘Caister men never turn back’ moto, there has been a crew stationed in the town since 1791. Initially the main purpose of the boat was to salvage, with the treacherous sandbanks posing a hazard to poor navigators and badly maintained ships. In 1845 the work of life-saving began, initially under the Norfolk & Suffolk Shipwreck Mariners Association; with the RNLI taking over responsibility in 1857. Cooks Doors have a history of working with the Caister lifeboat team, having previously undertaken work at the station to install a Hormann industrial door. Following on from that our team were recently tasked with manufacturing, supplying and installing a new red powder coat paint finished industrial rolling shutter door.
