Cooks Doors: Part of King’s Lynn Fire Station Project

Posted on 27/02/2015 Recently we were delighted to be asked to be part of the new South Lynn Fire Station project and install three Industrial Insulated Sectional Doors. This was a big project and was unveiled on the 2nd February 2015 by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. They were joined by a team of proud firefighters and unveiled a plaque to commemorate the grand opening of the £2 million South Lynn Fire Station in Horsley's Fields. The innovative and sleek design came from the help of the firefighters and has been located between the A47 and A17, which will help reduce emergency response times. The Fire Station The new station is set to hold three fire engines and any other emergency service vehicles. The building is also available to other public bodies including county and district council staff to allow more efficient working in the locality and reduce travelling time and cost. The new fire station wouldn't have been made possible without Norfolk County Councils £2 million funding which is part of a three year Fire and Rescue Service Plan. Hormann Insulated Sectional Doors We supplied and installed three Hormann SPU F42 Double Skinned Insulated Sectional Doors at the South Lynn Fire Station. These particular doors are made from galvanised steel and are HFCF-CFC free. As these doors were being used for a fire station, they had to comply with all fire stations and so the chosen colour was Traffic Red. They have also been designed to release faster making it easier for the fire crew to exit the station. A three phase operator (traffic lights) with an emergency hand chain was also installed as well as an anti-lift security device, preventing uninvited guests to enter the new station. Not all of Hormann's sectional doors come with windows, but as requested, we installed two rows of three type Ap Plastic framed compound vision windows. This project was a great success and we were really happy with the outcome. Our insulated sectional doors will be put to good use and are the perfect solution for a fire station.
