Capturing Cooks, as Customers See It

We recently spent a day filming and taking photos across the Cooks products and spaces. There wasn’t a detailed script or rigid plan. The aim was simply to capture things as they are - being installed, demonstrated and used in the same way our customers see them day to day.

We began with Perfect Fit blinds, filming how they’re fitted and how they sit once in place. Seeing them installed properly makes a real difference, especially as there’s no drilling or damage involved. Watching the footage back, it’s easy to understand why they’re such a popular option - tidy, straightforward, and doing exactly what they’re designed to do.

After that, the filming became much less structured. We moved between different products and areas as things naturally came up, picking up moments as they happened. Some of what we filmed was practical and hands-on, other parts were simply about how things move, sound or feel when they’re being used. Nothing was paused or reset for the camera - we filmed everything as it was being shown, which kept the day relaxed and true to how things actually work.

Capturing Cooks, as Customers See It

A large part of the day was spent in the Cooks showroom, capturing what customers experience when they visit. With Craig, one of our Sales Representatives, we filmed people browsing displays, comparing products, and talking through their requirements. This included looking at blind styles and motorised options, as well as spending time handling and comparing samples - often the point where customers start narrowing down their choices.

We also moved into the Artares room to show how the space works day to day. Filming the roof opening, the side screens in use, and the lighting and heater running helped demonstrate just how flexible the room is. It’s a space that works year-round, and that comes across far more clearly on video than it ever could in static images.

Later in the day, the focus shifted back to the showroom to film garage doors in use. James, our Domestic Surveyor, talked through the Hörmann range while we captured the doors opening and closing, along with close-ups of the different finishes and colour swatches. Seeing these details in motion - side-by-side - gives a much clearer sense of how the doors will look and feel once installed.

By the end of the day, we’d built up a wide mix of planned and unplanned content. Together it paints a more complete picture of how our products work in practice and how customers move through the process, from first visit to final choice. You’ll start to see this content appearing across the website and our social channels over the coming weeks.
