This week our repairs team visited Ovamill’s facilities in Beccles, to repair and service a suite of warehouse doors that haven’t been used in several years. The doors are believed to be over 30 years old, and had been out of use for a long period of time. Our repairs team got the doors back to running in top working order, with new wiring and electrical control equipment, making the warehouse operational again and safe to use.
The doors repaired included two massive 15 x 5 metre Bolton Gate ‘Superior’ folding shutter doors. The bi-parting, power operated doors were given a full service with the top door tracks raised and the fittings levelled to achieve the correct floor clearance. All parts were inspected, cleaned and lubricated as necessary and chain tension adjusted to ensure smooth and safe operation. Both of the huge doors were rewired and fitted with new cabling and operational controls, wired into the existing 3 phase, 16amp with neutral power isolator, fitted adjacent to the doorways. Fully tested and inspected, the doors were recommissioned and are in perfect working order, running along the tracks as if they were new.
The site also had two 5 x 5 metre single leaf, Bolton Gate shutter doors with manual operation. The doors were inspected and repaired to ensure the clearance on the track guides, and all moving parts and sections cleaned and lubricated. As the doors are manually operated, smooth and safe opening and closing of the doors is particularly important to ensure the doors can easily be opened and closed without becoming heavy.
Bringing these 30 year old doors back to life with a thorough repair and servicing has ensured the doors can continue to provide safe, secure operation for many more years to come.
