Purpose Made Door for Cantley Sugar Factory

Posted on 19th November 2019 Two Metre Blue Steel Door with 60 Minute Fire Rating

The Cantley sugar factory has been a fixture on the Norfolk landscape since 1912, now as part of a site upgrade we have provided purpose made steel doors for the facility.

The century old sugar beet factory is upgrading its production of a valuable soil conditioning byproduct, Limex. The factory has been supplying the byproduct back to farmers since it first began refining sugar, but new technologies and manufacturing methods enable a more concentrated product that is better for crops and farmers.

The multi-million-pound investment in the factory is seeing vast upgrades across the site, that still has some of the original steelwork that is “as old as the titanic”.  Cooks Doors were commissioned to provide a purpose-built steel door, featuring a number of features to improve safety and efficiency.

The Outa-Dor 60 in RAL 5002 Ultramarine Blue, measures over 2 metres wide and 2.3 metres high and features:

  • 60 Minute fire rating
  • Mineral wool infill (1.8 w/m2k),
  • Magnelis coated base material
  • 4no. 100mm template drilled stainless steel butt hinges c/w dog bolts
  • Type C single rebate frame,
  • Hooply multi-point sashlock c/w lever handle set
  • Securefast TS007 euro profile cylinder and thumbturn
  • Surface mounted closer per leaf
  • Low profile aluminium threshold & frame seals
