Our gates department recently installed a huge automatic, cantilever gate for a farm near King’s Lynn. The installation of the gate provides security for the site, whilst the super wide opening allows access to the site for lorries, tractors and vehicles of all sizes.
The seven metre wide, galvanised steel gate was installed upon an existing concrete base which our team cut and amended during the groundworks stage, to allow for new pillars and the concealed power and signal cables housed inside piping. The motorised gate was installed to work with the existing entry system in place, with additional features added including a ‘gate hold key’ supplied. A range of safety devices are included in the gates operation, including LED lights mounted to the posts, vehicle detection photo beams so that the gate remains open if a vehicle is detected crossing the sensor, and EPDM protective devices added along sharp edges.
The gate was fitted with Magnum wheeled heavy-duty carriages for smooth and quiet operation, the self-lubricating bearings of the unit allow for a 3,000,000 cycle operation, which means that this low maintenance, high security gate will be in operation for many years to come.
