Rapid Folding Doors for Emergency Vehicles

Posted on 26/10/2017 Rapid Doors at South Lynn Fire Station

When time is of the essence, every second counts. Rapid folding doors are often installed at emergency service stations, allowing maximum efficiency and safety for drivers of fire engines and ambulances. The size and swift operation available by rapid folding doors makes them the perfect choice for buildings housing large vehicles or machinery.

How rapid are rapid folding doors?

We supply and install the Swift, Osprey and Kingfisher ranges by Phoenix which all open in 7 seconds – no matter what size they are. Opened manually or electrically, these rapid doors save time, every time.

Safety First

Opening doors horizontally, the driver can see exactly when it is safe to enter or exit – unlike a vertically opening door which are often misjudged. Opening doors horizontally reduces the time and expense of repairing damaged doors and vehicles, as well as increasing safety.

The doors include a number of safety features including easy-grip handles, anti-slip threshold plates and non-breakable windows. The controls for the doors opening and closing have manual override devices and can be slowed down during the final closing of the partitions for ultimate safety.

For All Buildings

We can hang the doors from above or below or they can be installed side-hung with options for bi-folding, multi-leaf folding or rolling straight – letting the opening suit your needs perfectly. Available up to 30m wide for electrically operated doors or a massive 100m wide for manual openings, these doors can be used for a massive range of buildings where access is needed quickly.

Energy Efficient

The Phoenix range are constructed with 52mm insulated steel panels and fitted with multi-wall rubber seals to all edges to keep out cold air, rain and dust. The fast-working, thermally-efficient doors reduce heat loss and can dramatically improve a building’s energy efficiency.

The doors are built to last, with a life expectancy of more than 20 years. Durable and robust, the doors are made to an extremely high quality and more than 80% of the materials can be recycled at the end of the doors’ use.
